Contract Attorney with Gardiner Koch Weisberg & Wrona

Solving Problems, Challenging Assumptions, and Making a Difference

Hamza Jaka has built his career around a simple idea: people deserve to be heard, their challenges deserve thoughtful solutions, and sometimes the most important question is, “Have we considered another way?” A contract attorney with Gardiner Koch Weisberg & Wrona in Lake Geneva, Hamza brings a combination of legal expertise, practical problem-solving, and a deep commitment to helping others navigate life’s challenges.

Raised in Fontana, Hamza has strong roots in the community he serves. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, for both his undergraduate education and law school before building his legal career in Wisconsin. For the past seven years, he has worked with Gardiner Koch Weisberg & Wrona, handling a wide variety of legal matters, helping clients work toward successful outcomes, and supervising and teaching younger attorneys as they develop their own skills. He is also actively engaged with the Wisconsin Bar Association.

Hamza’s commitment to advocacy extends beyond the courtroom and office. In 2015, he was honored by President Barack Obama for his leadership in advancing the rights of people with disabilities. His work advocating for disabled students, both on and off campus, reflected a dedication to making institutions and communities more accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the people they serve.

That commitment continues through his service on the board of directors for SMILES, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching lives through equine-assisted activities. His involvement reflects the same values that guide his legal work: listening carefully, recognizing individual needs, and helping people find meaningful ways forward.

Colleagues and friends know Hamza as someone who keeps track of the details, remembers the deadlines, and isn't afraid to ask the questions others might overlook. He has a knack for teaching and a willingness to help people solve problems in ways that work for them. Whether he is guiding a client through a complicated legal issue, supporting a nonprofit, or mentoring a younger lawyer, he takes the responsibility seriously without taking himself too seriously.

Outside of work, Hamza enjoys traveling, sports, volunteering, video games, trying new foods, and spending time with his family. He may claim that age has caught up with his former hobbies, but his continued professional and community involvement suggests he hasn’t slowed down nearly as much as he thinks. And if you're looking for a fun fact, he is a devoted chicken nugget enthusiast—with Rick Astley as his celebrity pick.

Hamza’s impact comes from combining knowledge with compassion and using both to help people move forward. Through his legal work, disability rights advocacy, mentorship, and nonprofit service, he continues to make a difference by asking thoughtful questions, finding practical solutions, and showing up when people need help.
