Chief Operating Officer, Badgerland Fireplace

Leading with kindness, building with purpose, and investing in the community she calls home.

For Katie Stecker, success is about more than business growth. It’s about building meaningful relationships, supporting the people around her, and making a difference in the community her family calls home.

A resident of Walworth County for nearly 10 years, Katie lives in East Troy with her husband and two daughters. Together, they’ve put down roots, built lasting friendships, and found ways to give back to the community they love. Katie is actively involved with Lakeland Church in Lake Geneva and values the connections she’s built with her neighbors, friends, and fellow community members.

Professionally, Katie serves as Chief Operating Officer of Badgerland Fireplace in Waukesha, where she oversees operations and leads the retail sales division. Although the company is based outside Walworth County, its reach extends throughout the area, serving local homeowners and employing several Walworth County residents. During her time with the company, Katie has helped drive significant growth, increasing revenue by more than 40% in four years while helping the business nearly double in size.

As a woman leading in a traditionally male-dominated industry, Katie has earned respect through her determination, expertise, and attention to detail. She believes strong leadership starts with treating people well, recognizing their strengths, and creating an environment where both employees and customers feel valued.

Whether she’s helping grow a business, supporting her church, or investing in relationships close to home, Katie leads with warmth, confidence, and a genuine desire to make things better. For her, being part of Walworth County means more than living here—it means contributing to the community, raising her daughters among people who care, and helping build a place where families and businesses can thrive.
